Album Feedback...
Press & Reviews - PR on 2009-05-29 10:34:47

..and no we don't mean the Hendrix kind of feedback, although that would be an excellent soundtrack to the beautiful summer day we have today. Yes, the sun is shining and the weather is indeed sweet.
Before you go and make the most of it check out some of the feedback collected so far for the album, it may be a bit of us blowing our own trumpet but we've worked hard for it so nuuurrh :)

Very impressed and very pleasantly surprised at the musicality - I mean that I think I was expecting more of a bundle of dancefloor breaks stuff - but this is very vibey, richly produced and quality stuff! You must be very proud - I can see how much work's gone into it.

Just got the album on Saturday and what a feckin great listen!!! I think it’s rare that a dance music based band can pull off an album that just sits and plays nicely in the background, but you have pulled it off!! I have heard it about 7 times and I’m only just starting to listen to the singles disc that came free! Some of it, very much reminds me of the first Zero 7 album, but also has tinges of Bjork's debut (hopefully that’s not an insult to you!) but all in all a top summer album and I’m as sure as shit gonna play this to death!! Cheers bud ;)

...Had it on in the car ... Love Ultrafunkula & troubles in your mind, not the sort of stuff I’d normally dig but the whole album’s got a real nice flow to it, like a proper artist album with an individual sound ... Cheers,
Jonny (SPLANK Records)

Excellent Album... All Breakbeat must be like this...

Quite a range of styles on this! ...A good summer album. Favourites are the groovy opener of Ultrafunkula, the melancholic - edged Don't Be Fooled Again, and Beautifully Dazed for its summery bounciness. Nice work!
Kickflip
-----------------------------------------------
Good mix of down tempo grooves, funky soulful cuts and electro vibes, it's a real journey:) "Just be good to me" is still my fave track on here, such a good feeling with this track:)
Big smiles:)

We are proud and totally honoured to bring you the next release from Breakin Even Deep, welcoming one of the co-founders of the world’s finest Breakbeat record label, Finger Lickin’ Records, Jem Panufnik, aka JEM STONE. Those of you who know the label will know his genius work already as Soul of Man amongst other guises, as well as the man behind the label’s infamous artwork.

We are delighted to have him onboard Breakin Even Deep with a superb remix EP of the Groove Diggerz version of Just Be Good To Me. As with his recent mixes for Kraak & Smaak, Rennie Pilgrem and Smoove & Turrell, the ‘Jem Stone’ alter-ego is all about the music, gently stepping away from purely DJ-orientated tracks. This EP is a real sublime journey that belongs on every iPod in the country, leaning slightly toward a deep house flava, both tracks will leave you wanting more. We hope you enjoy as much as we do. >
Jem

Releases - Ian Sinnetti on 2009-05-22 15:10:45

'Groove Diggerz' return with their 3rd single from the album ‘Money For Good Times’. This time the Diggerz take the Drum and Bass route.

2: Groove Diggerz - Good Times (Greenfly remix) – VINYL / MP3

3: Groove Diggerz - Good Times (Dub mix) – DIGITAL ONLY

DJ Heists take on ‘Good Times’ is like a freight train pounding down the track, big bubbling basslines and slick crisp drums, soaring, addictive vocals from Princess Jewels, Very uplifting but still deep, dark and dirty all at the same time, top notch!

Next up on remix duties is Greenfly formerly signed to Good Looking Records, now running his own label (FF Recordings) his take on ‘Good Times’ is like a musical meditation with the phat beats to match, nice subby basslines on this one and the catchy vocals from Ronnie Black and Princess Jewels once again, very refreshing.

The Groove Diggerz dub mix is an instrumental of the original, you’re gonna have to buy the album to hear it!

4th July - Celebrate Indie-pendance, yeah?
Breakin Even Presents - PR on 2009-05-12 13:09:33

Hello, hope all is dandy, spoke too soon about the summer, eh? Sorry, my fault.

We are holding a second Breakin Even presents night at the Warwick on the 4th July, 'Indie-pendance night'! I know its a bit cheesey but hear me out.

Everyone knows how hard it is to get a good night together with just the right amount of live music, fun, dancing, food and booze so with that in mind Breakin Even have created this night to give new and seasoned performers alike the opportunity to play in front of a great crowd at a welcoming spot with a great sounding PA.
Also, were gonna pick a brand new performer to play, if you'd like to perform on the July 4th or for any of the forthcoming nights please send demos and biog to Phil@breakineven.co.uk and Rob@breakineven.co.uk. All styles welcome!

As well as showcasing local talent headlining July the 4th is the the amazing Princess Jewels - check out the awesome video below! After the performances Rob and guest DJ's will also be spinning deluxe funk and soul. Oh, and its free. We hope you can make it down there.
